Summary

Laura Watford is a Teaching Fellow at the 兔子先生, currently leading the MSc modules Professional Practice (M25063) and Decision Making in Education (M25032). Her academic focus includes reflective practice, inclusive education, and decision-making strategies for working with children and young people.

Laura is co-lead of STEMunity, a UK-based initiative that has reached over 54,000 students across 34 countries, delivering hands-on STEM and STEAM learning experiences. She has played a central role in designing and delivering the 5PARK programme, including the Maritime and EcoCity Boxes, and has led international outreach through the Jamaica STEAM Challenge, in partnership with the British Council and National Education Trust.

In 2020, Laura was part of the Britannica team that designed and authored the Japanese STEAM curriculum modules for Phase 1, and later contributed to the review team for Phase 2, supporting curriculum innovation and global education standards.

Her work spans curriculum design, teacher professional development, and educational equity, with a strong emphasis on engaging underrepresented groups in STEM through creative, evidence-informed approaches such as escape rooms, mixed reality, and community-led challenges.
