
Clearing Visit Day
Thursday 7 August 2025, 10am-3pm
Take the opportunity to see the University through the eyes of our current students, find out what student life is like, learn about funding your studies, and explore our island city. We also have our course teams and support services on hand if you have any questions.
Here’s a rundown of everything you can do on the day. There's also information on planning your day and how to get here.
Checking in
When you check in, we give you everything you need to enjoy your visit.
Check-in open is open from 10:00am - 2.30pm

Student Information Fair
Want to know more about where to live or how we can support you during your studies? Got questions about student finance? Interested in our sports clubs or facilities?
You can chat to our Student Support Services at our Information Fair. It takes place from 10:00am - 3:00pm on the Ground Floor Atrium of Portland Building ().

Walking Campus and Halls Tour
Explore our campus with one of our student ambassadors and find out what university life is like. Take the opportunity to stop by some of our Halls of Residence and get a glimpse of where you could be living.
Tours run between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
Library Tours
Make your way over to the library to explore the resources we offer students and the different facilities available. Self-guided tours are available between 10:00am and 3:00pm .
Ravelin Centre Sports Tours
Come and see our impressive new sports centre for yourself. Tours will be taking place at Ravelin Sports Centre () between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Get a feel for the building and find out more about how you can benefit from it during your time studying with us.
Food and Drink
Grab a free lunch meal deal at the cafe in Portland Building. Show your Clearing Visit Day Guide to our catering staff to redeem your free lunch for you and your guests.
If you’re out and about in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, there are loads of cafes and restaurants throughout Guildhall Walk, Southsea and Gunwharf Quays featuring well-known names and independents. Ask our staff and students on the day for recommendations, they'll be happy to help.
Travel Information
Please note there is NO parking at Portland Building. If you choose to drive, please take a look at the options available to you:
1. Park and ride
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has a handy Park and Ride service to save you the hassle of finding parking in the city, for only £4 per day, per vehicle:

Payment will be taken via cash or contactless bank card by the driver on the bus.
The Park and Ride bus service runs every 15 minutes. For the Clearing Visit day we recommend getting the PR1 line that will take you towards The Hard. You can either depart the bus at Queen Street West or The Hard Interchange and its a quick 5-10 minute walk through to Portland Building.
Please allow about 20 minutes to get to us from the car park.
2. City centre parking
To get to car parking closest to the University, use the M27 (from the west) or A3(M)/A27 (from the east) and take the M275 into ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú (signed 'ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú West'). Ignore the M27/A27 junctions signed to Southsea and Hilsea.
On-street, pay-and-display parking is available close to campus and to the check-in venue. There are also public car parks throughout the City. There's more information about city centre car parking on the .
3. Trains
The closest station (10-minute walk) to Portland Building is ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Harbour.
