Repair Café at the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú

18 Nov 2025

12.00pm - 3.00pm

Portland Street, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, PO1 3AH

Free

Got something broken? Fairy lights that won’t shine? Hair straighteners that won’t heat up? A missing button on your favourite top? Bring it along to the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s first on-campus Repair Café and get it fixed for free.

A Repair Café is a community event where volunteers help repair household items, such as small appliances, clothing, and electronics, free of charge. It’s a great way to save money, reduce waste, and learn practical repair skills to encourage a more sustainable, reuse-focused culture.

This event is run in partnership with and their team of volunteer repairers. All ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú staff and students are welcome.

If you have questions about this event, please email revolutionplastics@port.ac.uk.

How to take part:

  • Drop in anytime between 12–3pm to the Portland Building Atrium
  • Or in advance (form submitted to Share ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, external to the University)

Please note:

  • Items will be seen on a first come, first served basis unless pre-booked
  • Only bring items you can carry easily
  • We cannot repair e-scooters or microwaves
  • Repairs are not guaranteed, but advice will be offered if a fix isn’t possible
  • Repairs are free of charge, but donations are welcome to help sustain Share (ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú)’s work in the city.
